About the Cat's Claws
The Cat's Claws' bookmarks are hand painted by queer Toronto artist Lawrie using gouache on water colour paper. Lawrie began making cat-themed greeting cards during the pandemic, inspired by more than a decade spent as a cat sitter and in homage to their own feline void, Fili. They live in Toronto with their two cats, Fili and Achilles, pretending they're a writer in between working at Wholesome Canine and as a copyeditor.
